Sher Aur Bhalu Ki Kahani

Story Of Lion And Bear

In the jungle named Shyam, there used to be a clever lion named Sher (Lion) years ago. He was quite cunning, and he enjoyed taking advantage of befriending other animals. After getting his work done, he would turn his back on others when they needed help.

Everyone in the jungle knew that the lion befriends others only to exploit them and then refuses to help. Now, everyone started to keep their distance from the lion.

In search of friends, Sher spent a lot of time wandering in the jungle, but he couldn’t find anyone willing to befriend him.

One day, as he was heading to his cave, he saw an old bear living near his den. It occurred to him that making friends with the bear and taking advantage of him could be quite enjoyable.

Every day, Sher thought of ways to strike up a conversation with the bear, but he couldn’t find an excuse. Several days passed, but he couldn’t find a reason to talk to the bear. One day, he saw that the old bear was living near his den. Sher thought that befriending the bear this time might be beneficial.

Every day Sher contemplated how to initiate a conversation with the bear. Days went by, but he couldn’t find an opportunity. One day, he saw the bear talking to a bird. The bird was asking the bear, “Now that you’re old, how do you manage to get your food?”

The bear explained, “I used to catch fish before, but now I can’t. It doesn’t mean I go hungry. Now, I eat honey. For that, I have to go deep into the dense forest and bring honey from the bees.”

After hearing this, Sher realized that he had never tasted honey before. Now, befriending the bear could give him a chance to experience the taste of honey.

With this thought, Sher devised a plan. According to the plan, Sher went to the bear and said, “Do you recognize me? When you were young, one day you caught some fish from the pond and shared them with me. You’ve helped me many times. I used to get lost every time and end up bumping into you.”

The bear couldn’t remember, but he thought it might be an old incident. Just then, Sher said, “Alright, I’ll leave now. If you ever need anything, remember me.” Having said that, Sher headed back to his cave.

The bear also returned to his home, but he couldn’t forget Sher’s words. He thought, “Well, at least there’s someone I can talk to.” The next day, Sher initiated a conversation with the bear. In this way, Sher slowly started befriending the bear.

One day, Sher invited the bear to his den for dinner. The bear was delighted at the prospect. On the other hand, Sher had planned not to let the bear eat dinner at night. He thought, “Why should I let someone else eat my food? I’ll put all the food on one plate and finish it quickly.”

When it was time for dinner, the bear arrived, and they sat down to eat together. The bear, being old, started eating comfortably. Just then, Sher quickly started eating and finished the food in a short time. The bear was very disappointed. Sher said, “Friend, I always eat like this.”

With a heavy heart, the bear went back home. The next day, the bird asked the bear, “What happened? Why are you so sad?”

The bear told the bird about the incident that happened last night. The bird, with a smile, said, “Don’t you know how Sher is? He always makes friends and then leaves after taking advantage. He never helps anyone. Now, you should teach him a lesson.”

Saying this, the bird flew away. The bear also decided that he would now teach Sher a lesson. With this thought, the bear went to Sher’s den again. He started talking to him in a very normal way. He didn’t let Sher know that he felt bad about the previous night.

While talking, the bear asked Sher, “Friend, how do you get your daily food?”

Sher asked, “You want to know? Just like that. I’ll come to your house for dinner tonight.”

The bear was very happy with the invitation. On the other hand, Sher thought, “Somehow, I won’t let the bear eat at night.” He planned to put an end to the dinner quickly.

When night came, and the bear arrived, Sher quickly brought one plate of food. They sat down to eat together. The bear, this time, brought a honeycomb and placed it in front of Sher, saying, “The honey is inside this. Enjoy your meal.”

As soon as Sher put his mouth into it, the bees started stinging him. Swelling occurred all over his face. Wherever Sher ran, the bees followed him, chasing him away.

Finally, Sher realized that the bear had taken revenge on him, so he quietly left the place.

From the story, we learn that if you help someone, be prepared to help them when they need it. If we do harm to others, we will also receive harm, as actions do not spare anyone.
